Danny Hoh has a story to tell
Being in the industry for 10 years and through experiences in marketing and retail with MNCs and conglomerates like The Sunway Group, Berjaya Group and Maxis Communications, he now heads the marketing for Wyann International.

If you haven’t heard of Bizzy Body, Facial First, Masculine, Skin Nutrition and Enavose, you’ve probably got a body or face to die for. These are leading slimming and beauty brands not only in Malaysia but internationally as well. ADOI talks to Danny, the man on the go…

As CMO, what are your strategies on sustaining the brands?
It is important to engage with our customers and give them a sense of belonging. Our strategy is to reach out to them via blogs, websites, PR and marketing events. We not only provide high-end technological slimming solutions, our nutritionists also guide customers on healthy eating habits. The treatment is two to three times a week and follow up diet recommendations are easy to follow.

There are 10,044 fans on your Bizzy Body’s page on Facebook?
Yes, Facebook has broadened our horizon in reaching out to the public and new satisfied customers. Social media brings in 10% of our customers.

What are some of the events that Wyann International did this year….
Malaysia’s squash champion Ong Beng Hee is now our spokesperson for our masculine products. The Ambassador Search finals will be this year in November and model Aliza Elizabeth was crowned Bizzy Body Ambassador 2008/2009; she lost 20kgs after her pregnancy, and she delivered twins!

How international is Wyann International?
We are poised to hopefully become the first Malaysian slimming brand to expand to the Middle East and China. China’s has a huge middle class with a healthy disposable income we wish to tap into. In our research we also found that people from the Middle East do face weight issues, so we see an opportunity to reach out to them.

What about free treatments?
Yes, I proposed to my CEO to offer a few hundred thousand free treatments since there are about 60% overweight and 30% obese Malaysians. This strategy was a huge success for us.
