BBDO/Proximity Malaysia has announced the appointment of John Teoh as Group Account Director and Susanah Tan as Senior Account Director, two outstanding individuals who bring with them vast experience and market knowledge to the Account Management Team.
Teoh, previously Client Service Director at Euro RSCG, has been active in the communications industry for 15 years. He started his career in Bates working on some of the largest local and international MNCs in the country such as HSBC, Petronas, Parkson, Maybank, and Tourism Malaysia. “John has had solid hands-on experience and knowledge in building brands and delivering business results. He is passionate about creating media-neutral ideas that will help bring clients and brands to the future first,” says Jennifer Chan, Group Chief Executive of BBDO/Proximity Malaysia. At Euro RSCG he led the creative and account management team that strategized on the Maybank brand. During that period, the bank grew its credit card acquisition by 45%. He managed the Maxis Hotlink brand and is credited for the creation of the U Mobile brand name, identity and positioning. His knowledge of local brands and astute business sense will be an asset to the agency, as he leads the Maxis Hotlink brand and works on business-building programmes for BBDO. BBDO also appointed Susanah Tan, who will primarily be responsible for the Fonterra, SCA, J&J, GE and NSTP brands. Tan has a Masters degree in Business Administration from Hull University, and more importantly, 20 years of advertising experience. She began her career at a design house and worked her way into advertising. She has served at Grey, Naga DDB and TBWA-ISC\Malaysia among others, working with a wide range of clients from various industries such as pharmaceuticals, automobiles, financial institutions, hotels, tobacco, electrical products and IT. “Tan is extremely experienced, having worked on above-the-line, through-the-line and below-the-line campaigns. She will add a lot of value to both the agency and our clients,” Chan said. Tags:
