Naga DDB has awarded with a Gold Standard at the 2010 APPIES for its “Yellow Coverage Fellow” campaign developed for DiGi Telecommunications beating 105 award-winning marketing campaigns from 12 countries to win one of only 10 total Gold Standard awards given out.

To qualify, campaigns had to have reached finalists' status in any international or regional effectiveness award programme, which is recognised by the organizers, the Institute of Advertising Singapore (IAS) for its reputation and sound judging.

The “Yellow Coverage Fellow” campaign was presented at the Asia Pacific Advertising and Marketing Congress in front of a ‘live’ audience of fellow professionals. The campaign had met the combined criterion of exceptional strategy, creativity and effectiveness as reviewed by an international judging panel comprising of high-level executives from the marketing industry.

The idea from Naga DDB is proving to be Malaysia’s single most successful campaign in marketing effectiveness, having won a Gold (Most Effective Use of Advertising category) and a Silver (Best Idea category) in the 2007 Asian Marketing Effectiveness Awards, and a Bronze (Best Sustained Success category) in the 2010 Asian Marketing Effectiveness Awards.

David Mitchell, Chief Operating Officer of Naga DDB says “With the increasing demand for accountability, Naga DDB has always taken pride in combining insightful strategy and creative ideas to deliver great business results for our partners. Our performance in regional and local marketing effectiveness award shows is as much our success as it is our clients”.

“The APPIES provided a very intimidating challenge as all the campaigns presented were recognized winners in other award shows. We are both honoured and humbled with the Gold Standard as it is akin to being recognized as a ‘Best-of-the-Best’” added Tai Kam Leong, Strategic Brand Director for Naga DDB.

The APPIES or ‘THE PEOPLES OF THE ASIA PACIFIC’, is a term that has been coined to capture the essence of this vibrant, annual celebration of regional creativity. Synonymous with the Asia Pacific Advertising & Marketing Congress, it is an annual exposition to celebrate the planning of marketing campaigns, demonstrating their objectives, their implementation and measuring their effectiveness.
