Leo Burnett commemorated 77 years of creative success across its offices worldwide last Friday. In Malaysia, its 230 employees celebrated the “77+” themed event highlighting its signature HumanKind approach for meaningful creative work that inspires change in public perception which ultimately influences human behaviour. The anniversary event held at “The Pool”, saw Burnetters clad in playful 60s American jazz fashion, while getting dance lessons in Swing. In the spirit of celebration, contests included creating the best interpretations of the late Mr. Leo Burnett through miniature sculptures, and Leo Burnett’s Long-Service Awards were also presented to the deserving staff. A gift of USD$77, in reflection of the corresponding years that Leo Burnett has been in business, was also presented to each and every Burnetter. Tan Kien Eng, CEO of Leo Burnett Malaysia and an ardent advocate of the HumanKind approach, explained that this year’s anniversary was also to inculcate their core belief amongst staff. “We want our staff to keep sharpening their pencils of creativity, be open to picking up new skills in developing their overall capabilities and also to really understand the power of HumanKind and how the creation of meaningful work can change the world,” he added. “77+ marks a significant moment in the history of Leo Burnett in celebrating creativity, but we also hope to instil the belief in all of us that our talents have the ability to change us and others around us for the better. We hope this celebration will serve as a reminder to encourage Burnetters to keep ‘Reaching for the Stars’ and to achieve what is thought unachievable. Leo Burnett has had 77 years of brilliance and we hope for many more to come,” he added. |
