Catcha Media Berhad announced yesterday that it has completed the acquisition of 50% of Carlist.my, Malaysia's No.1 Car site.
The achievement further establishes Catcha Media's online media leadership position in the region.
With over 43, 000 car listings and more than 300, 000 users interested in buying cars every month, Malaysia's No.1 car classifieds site is Carlist.my.
"Carlist.my is one of Malaysia's most valuable online properties. It has tremendous potential to grow and we are extremely excited to work with the Carlist.my team to take this already amazing, leading website to the next level," said Patrick Grove, Chief Executive Officer of Catcha Media.
"This acquisition puts Catcha Media in an excellent position to grow and develop the online motoring space in Malaysia, both in terms of car classifieds and by way of developing more engaging motoring content in order to grow advertising and users in the near future," he added.
Since its inception in 2007, Carlist.my has enjoyed remarkable success, rising speedily to dominate the car website space in Malaysia.
It clearly has captured the car classifieds market as a result of it providing a better experience if compared to the traditional print listings.
With very fast search results, including detail, pictures and even video, online users are able to search for cars they want and even specifics like price range, make, model, year manufactured and more.
Catcha Digital, which is Catcha Media's subsidary is Carlist.my's exclusive display advertising sales representative and content partner for the online website.
